WAFFLE HOUSING

The project aims to deliver a contemporary affordable prototype housing by maximising the building area of the identified site through compacting and configuring the design into a waffle grid arrangement, as opposed to the traditional tenement row.

The houses are stepped down the steeply sloping site to allow for good natural light and views out to the rolling valley grasslands for all residents.

Each house has 4 small separate garden and courtyard spaces across both ground and first floor level to meet minimum garden area requirements, maximise bringing in daylight and create a sense of community.
